They exist exclusively in the present, harboring no regrets of the past nor expectations for the future. Simply, secretly, they occupy a place in your heart you never knew existed, a reminder the world has just begun again.
There are families that I could photograph and laugh with all day long. I’ve been fortunate to have been photographing this family for years now (OG clients, represent!) so its a thrilling honor to document their +1.
First, how incredibly adorable is the nickname Z-Rex?! Seriously.
When Z-Rex’s momma asked me to do a birth session for her, I was completely giddy and humbled. I felt so lucky that she was entrusting me to document such a milestone in her life – a milestone that can be everything from blissful to terrifying to vulnerable to empowering. I am so glad I was there to witness and capture his birth – Momma, thank you so so much for trusting me and allowing me to be there as you welcomed your little guy. It was an absolute pleasure. It has actually inspired me to pursue adding “birthing doula” to my resume.
This is a session I did way too long ago and never got blogged…until now! I ran into Cole’s papa at Claire’s gymnastics class with Cole’s older brother, Toby and it prompted me to blog their session…so here it is!
This whole family is incredibly sweet – seriously. I can’t even imagine Toby throwing a fit – he melts in your mouth sweet! And that sweetness obviously runs in the family because Cole was a dream throughout our session together!
One more thing, I am heading on vacation tomorrow (Goodbye snowy and cold Colorado and HELLO, MEXICO!) and will return (maybe.) on Monday January 23rd. Stay warm everyone! ;)

This session could not have been planned more perfectly. When I announced that I would be out in California in August, Natalie immediately contacted me so we could do their yearly family session – she was sure baby Ethan would have made his grand entrance by then. And he had!!! And he was so splendid – with hair all over and love wrapping him up under ambers of sunlight. His big sister had only known him for 5 days but she was totally smitten. Watching her love on her baby brother was one of my favorite parts of the session!
I love hanging out with your beautiful family, Natalie! Love that we can talk babies, families and frijoles. ;) xx.
